The vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria, had a special sparkle in September 2023 as the ELLA Global Community’s Wellness Event took center stage. Against a backdrop of rich culture and a growing wave of self awareness, the event became a powerful celebration of well-being and unity among women.

At 12:30 p.m. 15 enthusiastic participants, all with hearts wide open, were ready to embark on a transformative journey of self-care and well-being. The dedicated Country Director, Eniola, set the stage with a warm welcome, and engaging ice-breaker activities created an atmosphere of support and understanding. The air was filled with electric energy as the participants began to connect on a deeper level.
Ubuntu Healing Circle: A Symbol of Inclusivity
Dr. Toyin, a beacon of wisdom and compassion, took the reins for the first session, known as the “Ubuntu Healing Circle.” In this mesmerising display of unity, participants formed a circle, guided by gentle, rhythmic movements and soothing music. The Ubuntu Healing Circle transcended language, offering solace and rejuvenation to all attendees, uniting them through the universal language of movement, music, and shared experience.
A Cathartic Release – The Rant HQ Session
After the calming effects of the Ubuntu Healing Circle, Dr. Toyin introduced the “Rant HQ Session.” Participants took hold of a symbolic baton, granting them a platform to express their deepest feelings, thoughts, and experiences. This session became a profound and cathartic release, forging deep connections and shared understanding among all who participated. It was a space where voices were heard and stories were told, a step towards healing and liberation.
The event’s momentum continued to soar with the “Mindful Self-Care Practices Through Holistic Strategies and Tools” session, attracting 22 eager participants. Dr. Toyin guided attendees through holistic techniques aimed at enhancing self-awareness and well-being. Her session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing attendees to seek further guidance on self-care practices, fostering a sense of empowerment that would resonate beyond the event’s boundaries.
‘Healing from Toxic Relationships’ – An Empowering Workshop
A potent interactive workshop titled “Healing from Toxic Relationships,” led by Blaze, where 24 participants gathered to explore strategies and tools for recovering from harmful relationships and nurturing self-worth. Blaze’s expertise provided attendees with invaluable insights and empowerment, a testament to the event’s commitment to holistic well-being.
